Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats UVM, Binghamton; Men Defeat Binghamton

Vestal, N.Y. - The Boston University women's swimming and diving defeated Binghamton, 138-99, and Vermont, 164-78, while the men's team downed the Bearcats, 135-106, on Saturday afternoon in Vestal, N.Y. The women's team remained undefeated in head-to-head action, while the men improved to 2-1. The women opened the meet with a win in the 400 medley relay as Kara Zebrowski led off, followed by Kristen Connors, Emily Munday and Maria McIntyre. McIntyre continued with the winning ways a victory in the 50 free in a time of 23.79. Amanda Schmitz kept the momentum in BU's favor, as she touched the wall first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.98. Schmitz later won her second individual race - the 500 free (5:05.17). Katie Radin was the third individual winner, claiming first in the 200 back in 2:09.41. On the one-meter board, Melinda Matyas led a sweep with a score of 264.55, followed by Sarah Colton (235.10) and Bailey O'Brien (226.55). The trio later duplicated the feat on the three-meter. BU will now turn its focus to Colgate on Nov. 8 at Competition Pool.
