Led by second-year head coach Joe Jones, the Boston University men’s basketball team enters the 2012-13 season seeking its third postseason berth in the last four years. The Terriers return three starters, including Preseason All-Conference honoree D.J. Irving who led the league last season in assists at 5.4 apg.
Led by ninth-year head coach Kelly Greenberg, the Boston University women’s basketball team returns 10 letterwinners, including three starters from last year’s 23-9 squad that advanced to the first round of the WNIT. The Terriers will host a combined six non-conference opponents in November and December.
Led by senior captain Wade Megan, the Boston University men’s ice hockey team will play 18 contests at home this season, starting off with an exhibition game against the University of Toronto on Sunday, Oct. 7. Click here to purchase season tickets.
This past summer, Boston University formally accepted an invitation to move 20 of its 25 teams to the Patriot League on July 1, 2013 for the 2013-14 season. Formed as an all-sport conference in 1990-91, the league features American, Army, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh and Navy .

A former standout pitcher at Purdue, Suzie Rzegocki has been named assistant coach of the Boston University softball team, first-year head coach Kathryn Gleason announced Tuesday, Aug. 28.
"It is my great pleasure to welcome Suzie to the BU Softball family," Gleason said. "I have competed against Suzie during my time in the Big Ten, and I always admired the drive and passion she presented on the mound in leading her Boilermaker team. She will be responsible for our pitching staff as well as assist in all aspects of the program. I know she will bring great enthusiasm to Boston University and our program with her commitment to the overall student-athlete experience on the field, in the classroom and in the community."
Rzegocki joins the Terriers after an impressive four-year career in which she helped lead the Boilermakers to two NCAA regional appearances. Departing after the 2011 season with seven school career records, she recorded a team-best 86 wins against 60 losses with a 2.18 ERA. She also struck out 728 hitters and shut out 29 teams in 940.2 innings of work.
In one of her highlight performances as a junior, she no-hit Ball State and added three hits of her own, including two home runs, for a 7-0 victory.
An All-American in high school and Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year, she garnered Big Ten All-Conference Third Team honors as a sophomore and Academic All-Big Ten accolades her senior year at Purdue.
This past year, she served as a the co-head varsity coach at Tri-County H.S. in Wolcott, Ind., and this summer as an assistant coach for the Bulls/Sox Academy.
She joins a team that returns 14 players from last year's 41-16 squad that earned its first-ever No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament.
