2012 Cal Regional Practice Day

Katie Grimes enters her second season with the Boston University softball program in 2012 and first as an assistant coach. Grimes joined the program in 2011 as a volunteer assistant.

Grimes had an illustrious career at the University of Hawaii, culminating in an Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championship and its first ever appearance in the Women's College World Series.

In addition to Hawaii's conference championship and subsequent appearance in the World Series, the team finished the season ranked seventh in the nation according to the NFCA.

Over four years, she appeared in more than 200 games, including all 66 contests as a senior. In her final year at Hawaii, she batted a career-best .282 behind the plate with 11 home runs, 41 RBI, and a .990 fielding percentage.
