BOSTON - The reigning America East regular season champion Boston University women's soccer team was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for maintaining a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, as the Terriers earned an NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.

To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible. The Terriers surpassed the requirement with an overall 3.33 team GPA.

"As proud as I am of the accomplishments of this team on the field, I am even more impressed that our players are able to balance such a rigorous academic program so successfully," said 18th-year head coach Nancy Feldman. "The commitment they demonstrate to get the most out of the academic opportunity that Boston University grants them is tremendous."

Feldman has consistently coached teams that have been strong both on and off the field. Two members of the 2012 team earned America East All-Academic Team honors, including senior Jessica Morrow and sophomore Taylor Krebs.
