BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team (3-4-0) will return to the confines of Nickerson Field on Friday, Sept. 21 for a 4:00 p.m. contest with Minnesota (3-3-0). It is the Terriers' first home match since Sept. 2 after spending the last five games on the road.

The Terriers are coming off a 1-0 win over Brown on Wednesday evening. Sophomore Mara Osher (Rockville, Md.) provided the heroics with a goal in the 47th minute - her first collegiate tally. The midfielder scored the game-winning goal two minutes into the second half on a high loft to the far left corner that Brown goalkeeper Steffi Klein initially deflected off the cross bar, but after her first touch the ball kept its momentum and rounded the post and into the far end of the net.

Red-shirt freshman Janie Reilly made a five-save shutout effort in net, including a game-saving stop in the 53rd minute.

The sophomore class has provided the Terriers with all their offensive output this season as Emily Pallotta (Andover, Mass.), Farrell McClernon (West Chester, Pa.) and Osher have netted the three game winners.

The backline has been consistent all season long, allowing just four goals in seven games, and is anchored in the middle by sophomore Casey Brown (Natick, Mass.) and freshman Lina Cords (Leonardtown, Md.). On the outside, juniors Shannon Mullen (Dallas, Texas) and Elizabeth Speck (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) have been defensive plugs.

Tonight's match-up will be the second contest with a Big Ten school for the Terriers this season. Earlier this year BU dropped a 1-0 decision to Wisconsin on Sept. 9. It will be the first-ever meeting between BU and Minnesota.

After dropping its first two games of the season, Minnesota has won three of its last four games. Most recently, the Golden Gophers picked up a 4-0 win over Montana. Eight different players have posted at least one goal this season with junior Lindsey Schwartz leading the charge with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Freshman Katie Bethke has also been productive on the offensive front with two goals and two assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Chelsey Turner has recorded a 1.14 goals against average and a .811 save percentage.

The Terriers will hit the road again on Sept. 25 for a 7:00 p.m. contest at Yale.
