BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team will begin a four-game road stretch on Thursday, Aug. 28, when it travels to Rhode Island for a 7:00 p.m. kick off. The Terriers fell in their season opener, 1-0, to No. 14 Boston College, while the Rams dropped a 3-2 decision to No. 10 Texas A&M.

BU leads the all-time series record with URI, 5-2, but the rivalry has not been played since the 2004 season when the Terriers claimed a 1-0 victory.

The Terriers are fresh off a slim 1-0 loss to the Eagles, where sophomore goalkeeper Janie Reilly played a solid game, making eight saves. Reilly made two point-blank saves, including one on a breakaway in the early minutes of the match which kept the game scoreless at the time. The offense mounted its attack in the second half, testing BC netminder Jill Mastroianni with hard shots to the far corners. Junior Farrell McClernon struck one to the far right corner that went just wide and followed it up with a direct shot from 10 yards out.

In the Rams' season opener, they took on No. 10 Texas A&M, but dropped a 3-2 decision. Freshman Courtney David and senior Sarah Helldoerfer found the back of the net, but URI was unable to earn the upset as the Aggies outshot the Rams, 10-3. David was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week for her efforts against Texas A&M.

Following Thursday's game, BU will continue its road trip when it travels to South Carolina for a 7:00 p.m. kick off.
