Senior Casey Brown was named the 2009 Most Valuable Player for the women's soccer team after a standout season on the Terriers' backline that was highlighted by the squad's third straight America East Conference title and seventh overall.

Brown earned NSCAA All-America Third Team honors as a senior - the first Terrier to do so in four years and the fourth overall. A local product out of Natick, Mass., Brown established herself as one of the nation's stingiest defenders and in 2009 she earned her third straight America East Defender of the Year honor, which was a conference first.

Brown, a stabilizing force on the backline, capped off a star-studded career by helping the Terriers' defense record 12 shutouts - tying a program record - and a 0.66 goals-against average, which ranked 24th and 23rd in the NCAA, respectively.
