STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Boston University women's soccer team defeated Stony Brook, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon in Stony Brook, N.Y. The win snapped Stony Brook's 10-game unbeaten streak. Senior Christina Reuter made 14 saves to earn the shutout and was one stop shy of tying a single-game record for saves. Sophomore Emily Pallotta netted the game-winning goal in the 10th minute, and junior Shannon Mullen and freshman Stephanie Croghan added insurance goals as the Terriers improve to 8-6-2 overall and 5-1-0 in America East action. Stony Brook falls to 7-3-5 overall and 4-1-2 in AE play.

The Terriers took the early lead when Pallotta (Andover, Mass.) netted her third goal of the season off a corner kick from classmate Mara Osher (Rockville, Md.) at 9:20.

BU added to its lead in the 39th minute when Shannon Mullen (Dallas, Texas) headed home her second goal of the season, with Osher picking up her second assist of the day. The goal was off a corner kick at 38:17.

The Seawolves peppered Reuter (Madison, Wis.) with seven shots on goal in the first 29 minutes of action.

Croghan (McLean, Va.) provided the Terriers with one final goal in the 53rd minute off a rebound in front of the net.

Reuter went on to make 14 saves, one shy of a BU single-game record.

The Terriers travel to Durham, N.H. on Thursday, Oct. 25 for a 2:30 p.m. contest with UNH.
