CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Boston University senior midfielder Sarah Dalton was a unanimous selection to repeat as America East Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year and head coach Liz Robertshaw was named the league's Coach of the Year to headline a group of 10 Terriers that were honored with All-Conference accolades, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. After completing a perfect run through the America East regular season, the Terriers will host Vermont in the America East semifinals on Thursday (April 30) at 1 p.m.

Joining Dalton on the All-Conference first team is junior attacker McKinley Curro, also a unanimous selection, and senior defender Kelly Munroe.

Five Terriers were named to the second team with junior attacks Erica Baumgartner and Xan Weitzel, junior midfielder Traci Landy, sophomore defender Corcoran Downey and junior goalkeeper Rachel Klein placed on the squad. Freshman midfielder Hannah Frey was a unanimous selection to the All-Rookie team.

Dalton is in the midst of one of the most prolific offensive seasons in conference history, setting the BU and America East records with 75 goals this season, which places her as the top goal-scorer in the nation. In her third season on the All-Conference first team, the Cornwall, Vt., native was a first-team All-American last season and is one of 25 nominees for the Tewaaraton Trophy for the second season in a row.

In her third season as head coach, Robertshaw led the Terriers to their second straight undefeated season in conference play and has captured the league's regular-season titles in each of her three seasons at the helm. She will be seeking BU's fifth straight America East Championship this weekend and enters the conference tournament with a 44-12 overall record.
 

 

Curro earned her first All-Conference bid in unanimous fashion after tallying a career-high 58 points on the strength of 35 goals and 23 assists. A native of Amherst, N.H., Curro has started every game this season and ranks second on the team and is tied for fourth in the conference in scoring.

Munroe is the backbone of the Terriers' defense, starting every game for the past three seasons. She has tallied 21 ground balls, 22 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers this season. A native of Westwood, Mass., and a member of the US Lacrosse Developmental Team, this is Munroe's third All-Conference selection after earning second-team honors in 2007 and first-team accolades in 2008.

Baumgartner leads the league and ranks eighth in the nation averaging 2.13 assists per game. Her 34 assists this season are the third-most in BU history and with 84 career assists, she leads all active juniors nationwide. The Silver Spring, Md., native earned her second straight All-Conference bid.

Weitzel is just behind Baumgartner with 32 assists, second-most in the league. A native of Moorestown, N.J., she has played in every game this season and chipped in 42 points.

Landy is second on the team and third in the league with a career-best 48 goals in her junior campaign. The Seaford, N.Y., native has also controlled 24 draws this season to repeat as an All-Conference honoree.

Downey has made her presence felt on defense this season, tying for the team lead with 19 caused turnovers in her first season as a starter. A native of Ellicott City, Md., Downey has also notched 20 ground balls and chipped in seven points.

Between the pipes, Klein has posted a 9.92 goals-against average and .450 save percentage as a redshirt junior, playing every minute of the season in the crease. After just two seasons as the full-time starter, the Forest Hill, Md., native ranks third among BU's career save leaders.

Frey opened her collegiate career by scoring goals in each of the first 11 games of the season. She enters her first postseason with 23 points, including 19 goals. The Nyack, N.Y., native earned America East Rookie of the Week honors after scoring five second-half points to power BU to a comeback win over Vermont on April 11.
