BOSTON - With 10 of 12 starters returning from the 2004 season, Boston University is ranked 20th nationally by Lacrosse Magazine in its annual pre-season poll.
The Terriers reached the America East Championship game for the sixth consecutive season in 2004, finishing with a 9-10 overall record and a 5-1 mark in league play. The top seven scorers from last year's squad return for the 2005 season including All-North Region selection Lindsay Lewis (Glenelg, MD). The junior midfielder led the Terriers in scoring in 2004 with 50 goals and 16 assists for 66 points.
Among the 10 starters returning are four First Team All-Conference picks including midfielders Alyssa Trudel (Shoreham, VT), Kaitlyn Cuneo (Marlton, NJ), and Mary Beth Miller (Berlin, NJ), along with defender Michelle Bussichella (Winchester, MA).
Defending NCAA Champion Virginia was picked first in the poll, followed by NCAA runner-up Princeton at No. 2 and Northwestern at No. 3. ACC powerhouses Duke and Maryland rounded out the Top Five. Also representing the North Region on the poll were Dartmouth at No. 11, Syracuse at No. 13, and Yale at No. 18.
