USA Hockey Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Freshman goaltender Kerrin Sperry of the No. 3 Boston University women's ice hockey team has been added to the roster for the 2010 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp.

The six-day camp, to be held from Dec. 26-31 in Blaine, Minn., will serve as a tryout and training session for the U.S. Women's National Team. Team USA will compete in the 2011 IIHF World Women's Championship, April 16-25, in Zurich and Winterthur, Switzerland.

Through the season's first half, Sperry has compiled an undefeated 11-0-2 record and ranks fifth in the nation in goals-against average (1.44) and eighth in save percentage (.937).

In addition, the North Reading, Mass., native has collected three shutouts and became the first Terrier netminder to record back-to-back whitewashes after blanking Connecticut, 4-0, on Dec. 4 and then-No. 10 Northeastern, 3-0, on Dec. 7.

With USA Hockey, Sperry attended the 2009 Women's National Festival and was a member of the U.S. Women's Under-18 Select Team for the 2009 Women's Under-18 Series against Canada.

The Terriers (14-2-3, 5-1-3 HEA) will return to action on Jan. 2 when they travel to Brown for a non-conference matchup. Opening faceoff is set at 2 p.m.
