The fifth-ranked Boston University women’s hockey team renews its rivalry with sixth-ranked Boston College tonight, as the Terriers travel down Commonwealth Ave. to face off with the Eagles at Conte Forum at 7 p.m.

BU last faced BC on Feb. 8, 2011 in the first round of the Beanpot at Conte Forum. The Terriers lost, 2-1. BU has won five of the last six league games against the Eagles, however, and has shut BC out in the past three league games at Conte Forum.

Tonight’s contest will close out a five-game road trip for the Terriers, who played a pair of games against No. 1 Wisconsin last weekend. BU dropped a 3-0 decision on Friday before suffering a 6-1 setback on Saturday. Sophomore goaltender Kerrin Sperry was terrific in both games, however, as she made 70 saves over the weekend.

Senior captain and Hockey East Player of the Month Jenn Wakefield leads the Terriers in points (13) and goals (8), and is tied for the team-lead in assists with five. Senior forward Jenelle Kohanchuk has nine points (4-5—9) and freshman forward Kayla Tutino (6-2—8) are second and third, respectively, in scoring on the Terriers.

BC dropped to sixth in both polls this week after splitting a pair of weekend games at Providence on Friday, a 3-1 win, and at home against Maine on Sunday, a 5-2 loss. Freshman Alex Carpenter leads the Eagles in points (11) and goals (6), and is tied for first in assists (5). Rookie forward Emily Field (3-4--7) and junior defenseman Blake Bolden (2-5--7) are tied for second on the Eagles in scoring.

Junior Corinne Boyles has been between the pipes for all eight games this season. She is 5-2-1 and has posted a 2.43 goals-against average and an .899 save percentage this season.

The Terriers will welcome the Eagles to Walter Brown Arena on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. to complete the home-and-home series.
