Men’s Basketball
Led by second-year head coach Joe Jones, the Boston University men’s basketball team enters the 2012-13 season seeking its third postseason berth in the last four years. The Terriers return three starters, including Preseason All-Conference honoree D.J. Irving who led the league last season in assists at 5.4 apg.

Led by ninth-year head coach Kelly Greenberg, the Boston University women’s basketball team returns 10 letterwinners, including three starters from last year’s 23-9 squad that advanced to the first round of the WNIT. The Terriers will host a combined six non-conference opponents in November and December.

New Conference Affiliation
This past summer, Boston University formally accepted an invitation to move 20 of its 25 teams to the Patriot League on July 1, 2013 for the 2013-14 season. Formed as an all-sport conference in 1990-91, the league features American, Army, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh and Navy .

Lefort Earns Second Straight Hockey East Rookie of the Week Award
Oct. 15, 2012 WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Freshman forward Sarah Lefort of the No. 3 Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. It is the second straight week that Lefort has earned this honor. She scored three goals in two games this past weekend to help the Terriers pick up a pair of victories in their first two home contests of the season. On Friday night, Lefort scored the second goal of the game en route to a 3-2 victory over Rensselaer. She notched two more goals the following afternoon, including the game-winner, in a 6-2 win over Union. The Ormstown, Que., native is second in the nation with 1.67 goals per game and is tied for the league lead in goals with five. She is also tied for first in the NCAA with two game-winning goals. The Terriers will look for their second league win of the year when they visit Northeastern on Tuesday night (Oct. 16). Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
