WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Freshman forward Sarah Lefort of the No. 3 Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

It is the second straight week that Lefort has earned this honor. She scored three goals in two games this past weekend to help the Terriers pick up a pair of victories in their first two home contests of the season.

On Friday night, Lefort scored the second goal of the game en route to a 3-2 victory over Rensselaer. She notched two more goals the following afternoon, including the game-winner, in a 6-2 win over Union.

The Ormstown, Que., native is second in the nation with 1.67 goals per game and is tied for the league lead in goals with five. She is also tied for first in the NCAA with two game-winning goals.

The Terriers will look for their second league win of the year when they visit Northeastern on Tuesday night (Oct. 16). Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
