WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Freshman forward Sarah Lefort of the No. 3/6 Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Lefort was instrumental in the Terriers' 4-2 win at Boston College on Friday night. She scored her first collegiate goal to tie the game, 2-2, in the second period before she tallied the game-winner in the third period.

The Ormstown, Que., native also registered a team-high five shots and finished the game with a plus-1 rating. Lefort is the first Terrier rookie in program history to score two goals in her collegiate debut.

The Terriers, who jumped three spots to No. 3 in the USCHO.com poll on Monday, will host Rensselaer in their home opener on Friday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
