ERIE, Pa. - Graduate student Catherine Ward was named an American Hockey Coaches Association Second Team All-American, it was announced on Thursday night at the Frozen Four champions banquet.

The defenseman became the first Terrier to receive All-America status. A member of the BU blue line for just one season, Ward has left her mark on the program. She was named a Hockey East First Team All-Star, while also receiving the league's Best Defenseman Award.

The Montreal, Que., native ranks third among the nation's defensemen in assists (27), is tied for third in points (30) and fourth in points per game (0.88).

Ward and the rest of the Terriers will return to action on Friday (March 18) when they play Cornell in the NCAA semifinals at 8 p.m.
