WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Senior Kasey Boucher earned the Hockey East Best Defenseman Award, while freshman Kayla Tutino was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Boucher was fantastic for the Terriers, as she played in 20 of 21 league games and registered a plus-15 rating, best on the team. She notched nine assists in conference contests and totaled one goal and 13 assists in 33 regular-season games. The Lewiston, Maine, native is the second Terrier in as many years to earn the Best Defenseman Award, as Catherine Ward won it last year.

Tutino is one of six skaters on the All-Rookie Team. She ranked third among league rookies with 30 points, while her 16 markers were also third-best among Hockey East freshmen. The Lorraine, Que., native earned Rookie of the Week honors twice during the regular season and also garnered a Player of the Week nod on Nov. 21.

Senior Jenn Wakefield was also recognized as the Hockey East Scoring Champion, as she tallied 31 points (14g, 17a) in league play.

BU will return to action on Saturday when the Terriers take on Boston College in the Hockey East Semifinals at Hyannis, Mass. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
