WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Freshman Jordan Juron of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Juron turned in the best game of her season on Friday, as she scored two goals and added an assist to help lead the Terriers to a 5-2 win over Vermont. Juron scored both of her goals on the power play to earn the first multi-goal game of her collegiate career. Usually a center, she played right wing on a line with junior Marie-Philip Poulin and freshman Sarah Lefort and fired a team-high six shots on goal.
On the season, Juron has scored three goals and recorded two assists for five points. She is one of three freshmen to play all 23 of the Terriers' games this season.
This is the second straight week that a Terrier has earned Rookie of the Week honors and the fifth time overall; Lefort claimed the honor last week.
BU will be back in action on Saturday when the Terriers welcome Northeastern to Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m.
