VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Boston University women's golf team concluded its fall season with a 10th-place finish at the second annual TPC/Virginia Beach Invitational on Nov. 8. Junior captain Brenna Gibson (Dalton, Ga.) led the Terriers, finishing in 16th place overall with an 84-80-164.
Ohio University held off a second-round charge from Florida Atlantic to win the team title. The Bobcats shot a 314-320-634 to finish one stroke ahead of FAU, which tallied a 320-315-635. As a team, B.U. shot a 345-358-703, tying with host Old Dominion, which shot a 348-355-703. High Point's Kate O'Sullivan won individual medalist honors after shooting a seven-over par 74-77-151.
Senior Leah Johnson (Loveland, Colo.) tied for 42nd with an 86-94-180. Sophomore Haley Goucher shot an 88-93-181 to finish tied for 45th. Junior Kara Vaneck (Cleveland, Ohio) was 50th after an 87-95-182. Senior Nicole Schiffer (Temecula, Calif.) rounded out the Terrier finishers, coming in tied for 55th with a 99-91-190.
The Terriers next compete when they open the spring season at the University of Hartford Invitational on April 10-11.
