LEWISBURG, Pa. - Led by sophomore Kristyna Pavlickova's third individual title, the Boston University golf team claimed first place at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Course.

Pavlickova, who was tied for the lead after 36 holes on Saturday, finished first with a score of 220, eight shots clear of the next closest competitor. She tied for the lowest 18-hole score of the day on Saturday (71) and also tied for the lowest final-round total with a 74 on Sunday. She played the final 27 holes on Saturday in one-under par.

The Terriers finished with a team score of 930, including a school-record low of 304 during Saturday's afternoon session. BU won by one shot over both Rutgers and Seton Hall, who each finished in a tie for second (931). It was the Terriers' first team victory since 2008.

BU led every other team with 21 birdies and is well on its way to surpassing last season's total of 59. Alumni, family and friends are invited to pledge a gift for every birdie the Terriers sink this season as part of the "Terrier Birdies Challenge" this fall.

Freshman Maddy Silverman had an impressive collegiate debut, as she finished in a tie for 10th (232). Her weekend was highlighted by an eagle on the 12th hole during Saturday's morning round when she holed a 165-yard shot with a five iron.

Emily Tillo also had a strong start to her collegiate career, as she opened her freshman year with a score of 241. She sank a 30-foot birdie putt on her first collegiate hole to set the tone for her weekend, as she had six birdies total, just one behind the weekend leader.

Sophomore Flor Canedo finished with a score of 243, while junior Christine Silen had totaled 250, including a collegiate-low 76 in the second round on Saturday.

BU will look to keep its momentum going into next weekend when the Terriers travel to Hanover, N.H., for the Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 15-16.
