Senior captain Kate Murphy of the Boston University field hockey team has been selected as one of 38 participants in the 2011 NFHCA Senior Game, as announced on Tuesday.

Murphy is enjoying the best year of her career with 12 points on five goals and two assists to help the Terriers clinch a share of the America East regular-season title. The senior back has made 58 consecutive starts for the Terriers and has developed into one of the top defenders in the conference and in the region.

BU finished the regular season with a record of 10-8, including a 4-1 mark in league play.

The No. 17 Terriers have earned the No. 2 seed for this weekend's America East Championship in Durham, N.H., and will face 13th-ranked and third-seeded Maine in the semifinals on Friday (Nov. 4) at 4 p.m.

This will mark the third straight year that BU will be represented at the annual all-star game. Allie Dolce and Amanda Smith participated in last year's contest, while Nikki Lloyd earned a spot on the roster for the 2008 game.
