BOSTON - Boston University's Sarah Shute and Pam Spuehler have been selected to participate in the 2007 National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division I Senior All-Star Game. The two Terrier standouts were among 40 seniors selected nationwide.

Shute completed the regular-season with a conference-high 34 points on 15 goals and four assists. Earlier this season, she became just the fourth player in school history to eclipse the 100-point mark. She enters this weekend's America East Championship with 107 career points on 45 goals and 17 assists.

Spuehler, who earned second-team All-America honors last season and being named to the third team as a sophomore, is enjoying her most productive offensive season from the midfield, having recording 28 points on eight goals and a league-best 12 assists. She is one of three players in school history to tally at least 25 goals and 25 assists in a career.

"We are very excited and proud that both Pam and Sarah were picked for the All-Star Game," said head coach Sally Starr. "It's a honor they definitely deserve."

Shute and Spuehler, who have been all-region and all-conference first-team selections in each of the past two seasons, head up an eight-member senior class that has put together 58 wins since arriving on campus - two shy of the school record of 60 set by the Class of 1997.

In all, four players from the America East Conference were named to the roster for the All-Star Game, including Vermont's Danielle Collins and Albany's Michelle Simpson.

The 2007 NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the University of Maryland in College Park, Md. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
