CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After helping the No. 12 Boston University field hockey team remain undefeated in conference play with a win at Vermont, junior Ella Gunson (Whangarei, New Zealand) has been named the America East Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

In a 4-2 victory at Vermont on Saturday, Gunson registered her first two-goal game as a Terrier. She opened the scoring in the 12th minute and then gave the Terriers a 2-1 lead when she found the boards just 5:26 into the second half off a corner.

Gunson, who has scored all three of her goals this season in the last two games, has a team-best six assists and shares the team lead in points with 12.

The Terriers, who remained 12th in this week's NFHCA Division I national poll, will return to action on Friday (Oct. 12) when they host Maine at 6:30 p.m. It will be BUFHA Bus Day, as a shuttle will be bringing students back and forth from campus to Jordan Field. There will also be free food, games and prizes during a pregame party.
