CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After leading the Boston University field hockey team to a pair of road wins to start off the season, seniors Jacinda McLeod and Jess Maroney have been named America East Player and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, as announced by the league office on Monday.

McLeod recorded four goals over the weekend, scoring both the game-tying and game-winning goals in overtime victories against Delaware and Rutgers. She was also named this year's first GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

On Friday at Delaware, McLeod sent the game into overtime by converting a penalty stroke with 1:35 left in regulation and then scored 5:28 into overtime to account for the 4-3 final. She performed the same feat on Sunday at Rutgers, answering an early goal by the Scarlet Knights before recording an overtime winner in the 74th minute.

Maroney earned the start in goal in Sunday's 2-1 overtime win at Rutgers and overcame an early goal by the home team to record a pair of saves and keep the Scarlet Knights scoreless for the final 71:24 of the contest. One of her saves came with just over seven minutes left in regulation.

No. 14 BU will return to action on Friday (Aug. 31) when it visits Providence for a 7 p.m. contest.
