BOSTON - The Boston University field hockey team took to the turf for a spring play day on April 4 at Boston College and went undefeated in five games, posting a 4-0-1 record with wins over UConn, BC, Northeastern and UMass.

The first two games were 7-on-7 on a half field, as the Terriers edged Northeastern, 2-1, before earning a 1-0 victory against UMass.

The rest of the afternoon was regular games on a full field. BU recorded a 1-0 triumph against both BC and UConn before battling to a scoreless draw with Providence to wrap up the day.

"We were very encouraged with the way our team came out and competed against some very good teams," said head coach Sally Starr. "We were able to play younger players to get them experience as quickly as possible, and with that in mind, we made sure we were putting out different lineups to give each player different spots and opportunities.

"Our inexperience did show at times, but the work rate was high, and because of that good things happened on the field. There is no substitute for hard work, and we've been working hard in practice and in games."
