Women's Rowing Finishes Second in the Beanpot

BOSTON - The Boston University women's rowing team finished third in the varsity eight race in the third-annual Beanpot Saturday morning on the Charles River. In an event that included six schools, the Terriers placed in the top three for all four races to grab second-place overall in the Beanpot standings. Opponents included No. 16 Radcliffe, Northeastern, Boston College, MIT and Columbia. During the V8 race, BU was also competing for two cups besides the Beanpot. Radcliffe won the Allen-DeWolfe trophy with a time of 7:00.6, while the Huskies finished ahead of the Terriers by 0.3 seconds to win the Council Cup. BU took third in the novice eight and also finished second in the second varsity eight and varsity four races. The Terriers have concluded the regular season and will now focus their sights on the Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges Sprints.
