BOSTON – Due to an accident involving the University of Maine’s team bus, Boston University’s women’s basketball game against Maine that was scheduled for Wednesday (Feb. 27) has been cancelled.

The game was originally postponed on Wednesday but the America East announced Thursday morning that the game has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The Terriers end the regular-season with a 23-5 overall record and a 13-2 mark in America East play. Banned from the America East tournament due to the school’s move to the Patriot League on July 1, 2013, the Terriers will be unable to compete in the America East conference tournament.

BU will now await word on a possible NCAA tournament or Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) at-large bid. The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for Monday, March 18, at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. The WNIT will announce its 64-team field later that night.
