Senior Howie Landau returns for his fourth year in 2011-12 as the student manager of the women's basketball team. A native of North Bellmore, N.Y., Landau is pursuing a degree in Secondary English Education and he plans on pursuing a career in teaching and coaching.

Landau is responsible for the setup and breakdown of practices, aiding the athletic training staff, assisting with team travel, film and equipment, and keeping statistics. Landau graduated from Wellington C. Mepham High School in 2008, where he was a four-year letter winner on the volleyball team, earning all-county honors in his junior and senior seasons.

Additionally, Landau was the student manager of the girl's basketball team under head coach Jim Mulvey, assisting with practice set-up and breakdown, assisting with statistics and on-court coaching, while also serving as a practice player. At Mepham, he was voted most school spirited, and also received the honor of "Most Outstanding Senior" by the faculty and administration. He was a member of the volleyball team at Mepham, where he amassed 2,000 assists during his career.

Landau served as the president of Students Against Destructive Decisions, was the secretary of Odyssey of the Mind, "school news" editor of the newspaper, and was also a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.
