Fans unable to attend the 49th Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be able to follow the activities live through GoTerriers.com on Saturday (May 12) starting at 4:40 p.m. with a special edition of BU All-Access. The banquet will be held in the Metcalf Trustees Ballroom on the ninth floor of the BU School of Management.

Hosts Brian Maurer and Bernie Corbett will sit down with the six new members before the ceremony officially begins at 5:30 p.m. They are Jessica Alcorta (field hockey), Troy Billings (men's cross country/track), Nick Bone (men's soccer), Carnell Henderson (football), Chrissy Lombard (women's lacrosse), Christine Stief (women's cross country/track). Before they take to the podium though, BU will recognize six others for their accomplishments and support of BU Athletics.

A BU graduate and member of the school's Athletic Director's Council, Boston Red Sox Senior Vice President/Fenway Affairs Larry Cancro (CAS'77) will receive the Roger "Moose" Washburn Memorial Award. Joe Katchpole (SED'67), a member of the BU track & field team and long-time high school coach, will be honored with the William French Memorial Award. This year's recipient of the Murray Kramer Memorial Award is Eric Frede, a member of the Comcast SportsNet New England staff who also provides play-by-play for many other outlets, including ESPN and the CBS Sports Network.


 

 

Three current student-athletes will also be recognized for their contributions. Set to graduate next week, Brittany Heist (women's soccer) and Chris Connolly (men's ice hockey) will be honored with the Aldo "Buff" Donelli Memorial Leadership Award. Returning next season for a fifth year after receiving a medical redshirt in 2011, Michael Bustamante (men's soccer) will continue next year as recipient of the Irv Heller Hall of Fame Scholarship after first earning the award in 2010.
