ATHENS, Ga. - The Boston University track and field team had a strong showing at the Georgia Specs Town Invitational over the weekend with 17 top-five finishes, including individual crowns for David Proctor in the 800-meter run and Marisa Ryan in the 5,000.

The 4x100-meter relay team cruised across the finish line in 47.48 seconds. Alexis Beaudet ran the first leg, followed by Whitney Ford, Alyssa Fannucci and Ebony Cotterell. Cotterell later placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.01. Also earning a first-place finish was Marisa Ryan, who clocked in with a regional qualifying time of 16:50.59 in the 5,000.

In the 1500-meter run, Claire Robson and Abbey Sadowski finished third and fourth with times of 4:30.76 and 3:36.74, respectively.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Rebecca Marshburn was BU's top finisher, placing seventh in 14.85. Marshburn also earned a fourth-place finish in the 400 hurdles with a 1:02.59 time. Whitney Ford finished the 100 in 12.46, good for sixth overall and Alexis Beaudet was not far behind in eighth.

In the 800, Sarah Mosser and Katie Weider clocked in at 2:10.27 and 2:11.30, respectively, putting them in sixth and seventh.

In the field events, Ford continued with her full slate with an eighth-place finish in the long jump. Ford leaped 5.51 meters. Laura Ricker placed 14th and Alyssa Fannucci finished 16th in the event. In the triple jump, Ford was the sixth-place finisher with a mark of 11.80 meters. Camille Hazelwood placed ninth. Hazelwood's fourth jump of 11.43 meters, was her best of the day.

On the men's side, Alex Baillargeon, David Barth, Keith Buchanan and Mac-Alen Gerard sprinted to a first-place finish in the 4x100 relay, finishing in a time of 43.04. Buchanan and Baillargeon later finished fifth and sixth in the 200. The 4x400 relay team of Max Esposito, Baillaregeon, Matt Howard and Buchanan placed second with a time of 3:17.47.

David Proctor finished the 1500 in 3:38.65, just .04 shy of first place. Later, Proctor came back to win the 800, cruising to a time of 1:50.92. In the men's 3000-meter steeplechase, Eric Ashe placed second with a time of 9:19.28.

Matt Howard and Barry Graham placed eighth and ninth in the 400. Howard clocked in at 48.68, while Graham crossed the line in 49.72.

In the field events, Andrew Beatman earned a third-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 51.67 meters. Chase Carahan, Logan Moore and Greg Daggett finished sixth, eighth and ninth in the event. In the shotput, Dan Martin threw 14.97 meters, placing seventh overall. Kodjo Wilder was BU's top finisher in the long jump placing fourth with a mark of 6.29 meters. Gerard earned BU's second-best jump at the meet with a mark of 13.47 meters, placing sixth overall.
