Full Results After traveling over 1,600 miles to open the outdoor season in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Boston University men’s track team took a much shorter trip on Saturday to compete in Northeastern’s Husky Spring Open. Three different athletes competed, led by junior Andy Beatman, who competed in the javelin.
Beatman placed 12th in the event with a distance of 48.14 meters, and was the sole Terrier to compete in the field events. Sophomore Tom McLean and junior Albert Crooker participated on the track side. They both competed in the 1500 meters, with McLean finishing 19th with a time of 4:18.49, and Crooker finishing 22nd with a time of 4:23.00.
Crooker also ran the 5000 meters on Saturday, finishing with a time of 16:57.72, tying for 19th place.
The Terriers will spend next weekend divided as a team, sending athletes to Palo Alto, Calif., to compete in the Stanford Invitational, while some will travel over to Medford, Mass., for the Tufts Invitational.
