BOSTON - The Boston University men’s track and field team returns to the Track and Tennis Center on Monday, Feb. 5, to face off against top talent from Providence, Boston College, Northeastern and MIT. The men squared off against BC earlier in the season, winning 68-56, but it will be the first time hosting the other schools in dual meets this season.

The men enter Monday’s meet coming off a record-setting Terrier Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 27. Junior David Proctor broke a university and facility record, and set a new NCAA standard for the 2006-07 indoor season, after running the mile in 3:59.14, breaking the four-minute mark for the first time in his career. Senior Nick Goodman finished close behind, running a personal-best time of 4:03.13. Both earned national rankings for their performances and Proctor earned America East Track Performer of the Week as well.

In the 200-meter dash, five Terriers participated, as senior Matt Howard led the group with a 22.39-second 21st-place finish. Senior Steven Boursiquot helped the Terriers to two top-ten finishes in the field events, as he took sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.74 and tenth in the long jump (6.30). Freshman Mac-Alen Gerard joined him in the triple jump with fourth-place, 13.85 meters-performance.

Last year, the men hosted the same schools on Feb. 6, as the seniors led their team to four first-place finishes. Current senior Matt Howard also earned a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.29 seconds. Several current Terriers placed highly as well, as Boursiquot finished with the third best time in the 55-meter dash (6.77), and Barry Graham placed second in the 400 meters (48.98). In the high jump, Jum Dambara took second-place after recording a height of 1.87 meters.

Monday’s meet will get underway with the field events beginning at 4 p.m. The women will compete first, followed by the men. At approximately 5 p.m., the track events will commence, with the 4x400-meter relay set to close out the meet just after 7 p.m. For directions to the Track and Tennis Center, please click here.
