BOSTON - Senior Nick Goodman (Watertown, Mass.) paced the Terriers with two-first place finishes on Jan. 17, earning him America East Track Performer of the Week honors, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Goodman’s top finishes in both the mile and the 800 meters helped the men defeat both Boston College and UMass during BU’s home opener. Senior Marisa Ryan (Farmington, Conn.) earned the award on the women's side.

Goodman beat out 12 other competitors in the mile with a time of 4:13.28 to earn his first number-one finish of the season. In the 800 meters, Goodman placed first with a time of 1:58.51, and was the sole athlete to complete the race in under two seconds.

Goodman will look to continue his success when the men’s indoor track team competes in the Terrier Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Track and Tennis Center. Events are scheduled to get underway at 11 a.m.
