Freshman Hunter Meys earned MVP honors for the 2008-09 Boston University wrestling team after posting a 29-12 record and qualifying for the NCAA Championships in his first year as a Terrier.

Meys was one of four true freshmen in the nation to qualify at 174 pounds for the nationals after earning a fourth-place finish at the CAA Championships. The Clifton Park, N.Y., native opened the year with third-place finishes at two of the better early-season tournaments (Keystone Classic, Nittany Lion Open) and finished the year with a team-best 14 pins.
