Three members of the Boston University wrestling team will be competing at the 2014 NCAA Championships, beginning Thursday (March 20) at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.

Senior Nestor Taffur enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed in the 157-pound bracket. That marks the highest any Terrier has been seeded in the tournament since Earl Walker went in as the No. 2 seed in the 1995 NCAAs. It has been confirmed that Taffur's 117 career wins are the most of any wrestler in BU history.

Taffur will face Clarion's Austin Matthews - a true freshman - in Thursday morning's opening round. A win would likely match him up with third-seeded Alex Dieringer of Oklahoma State.

Juniors Tyler Scotton (141) and Mitchell Wightman (165) will make their NCAA tournament debuts after earning bids through their performances at the EIWA Championships.

Scotton will take on 14th-seeded Edgar Bright of Pittsburgh while Wightman faces Ramon Santiago of Rider in the early pigtail round.

Check back to GoTerriers.com on Tuesday for a full preview, including video interviews with all three Terriers.
