NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The Boston University wrestling team reeled off four straight wins to take a late lead but Rutgers won the final bout to secure a 16-15 victory in BU's dual opener on Sunday afternoon at College Ave. Gym.

Senior Bubba McGinley (125), junior Peter Ishiguro (141), senior Nick Tourville (149), senior Nestor Taffur (157) and junior Mitchell Wightman (165) all earned wins for the Terriers.

The Scarlet Knights had a 13-3 lead midway through the match before Ishiguro ignited the Terriers by securing a 4-3 win at 141 thanks to a takedown in the closing seconds.

Tourville followed with a 7-4 win at 149 before Taffur cut the Rutgers lead to 13-12 by edging Anthony Perrotti, 6-5, in the 157-pound bout. Wightman gave BU the lead in dramatic fashion when he defeated Nick Visicaro, 3-1, in overtime.

The dual came down to the final bout at 174, where Rutgers' Phil Bakuckas posted a 7-0 victory against Colin Saunders.

With each team winning five bouts, Hayden Hrymack's 12-2 major decision against Aaron Conrad at 184 proved to be the difference maker.

Rutgers won the first three bouts before McGinley got the visitors on the board with an 8-5 triumph over Scott DelVecchio.

The Terriers will return to action next Sunday (Nov. 24) when they travel to Penn to compete in the Keystone Classic.
