The Terriers enter their 73rd season with four-year head coach Tom Bohrer at the helm. Senior Andrew Reswow and sophomore Moritz Franz will serve as co-captains of a squad that last season captured a school-record five cups in the varsity eight races and reached the IRA Grand Final in the freshman eight event.
Entering the month of April ranked 23rd in the mid-major softball poll, Boston University is seeking its third NCAA berth in the last four years. Eighth-year head coach Shawn Rychcik returned eight starters and 13 letter winners from last year’s 38-14 squad, including AE Pitcher of the Year Holli Floetker and Rookie of the Year Chelsea Kehr.
The nine-time America East champion Terriers will close out the season in the month of April with four home games, culminating with Senior Day on Sunday, April 22 against Canisius at Nickerson Field. BU features 16 letter winners from last year’s team, including 2011 America East Co-Player of the Year Danielle Etrasco.
The Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame will hold its 49th induction banquet on Saturday, May 12, and will welcome six new members in the Trustees’ Ballroom at the BU School of Management. In total, the Class of 2012 combined for 13 All-America honors and 13 conference titles while featuring one national Freshman of the Year award recipient. AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR IN 2010-11
2011 CAA champion at 197... Earned second career NCAA bid after becoming third Terrier to capture an individual CAA crown... Posted a 21-5 overall record, including a 17-match win streak that ended in the second round of the NCAA tournament... Went 2-2 at the NCAAs, recording a first-round pin against Oregon State's Chad Hanke and 4-2 win over Michigan's Anthony Biondo in the wrestlebacks... Earned 12 bonus wins, including eight straight at the end of the season... Went 18-2 in dual competition, including a perfect 5-0 CAA mark.
AS A JUNIOR IN 2009-10
Posted a 6-4 record, including a 2-0 mark in duals, before redshirting the season due to injury.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2008-09
Posted 25-12 record at 197 to finish third on the team in wins... Was 14-2 in duals, had five falls, a technical fall and three major decisions... Started the season winning 13 of his first 16 matches with two falls and two major decisions... Placed secnd at the Keystone Classic... Finished 5-5 against CAA competition... Earned an at-large bid to NCAA Championships, where he was knocked out in the second round with a 3-2 loss to Patrick Bond of Illinois.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2007-08 Finished second on the team in wins, posting a 20-13 record at 197 as a rookie... Was 11-5 in duals and 9-8 in tournaments... Posted three falls, one technical fall and four major decisions... Won his first four matches, including an 8-3 decision over Shawn Nowrey (Delaware State) in his collegiate debut... Placed fourth at Keystone Classic and sixth at Nittany Lion Open... Won six straight dual matches between Jan. 26-Feb. 8... Named CAA Rookie of the Week on Jan. 29 after posting a 3-0 weekend in duals (9-2 over Drexel's Brian Stouffer, 9-6 over Rutgers' Lamar Brown and an 11-2 major decision over Nowrey)... Went 2-2 at CAA Championships, including a pin a 3:37 against Parker Burns (Campbell) and an 8-0 major decision against Stouffer.
BEFORE BOSTON UNIVERSITY Placed second at 2007 California state championships after eighth-place finish as a junior... Earned titles at San Ramon Invitational, Overfelt Tournament, Mid Cal Tournament, SCVAL League Tournament and Sectionals, capturing Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at three events... Preseason honorable mention by W.I.N. Magazine... Two-time team captain and MVP... Second wrestler in Palo Alto history to be a multiple state place winner.
