Led by second-year head coach Joe Jones, the Boston University men’s basketball team enters the 2012-13 season seeking its third postseason berth in the last four years. The Terriers return three starters, including Preseason All-Conference honoree D.J. Irving who led the league last season in assists at 5.4 apg.

Led by ninth-year head coach Kelly Greenberg, the Boston University women’s basketball team returns 10 letterwinners, including three starters from last year’s 23-9 squad that advanced to the first round of the WNIT. The Terriers will host a combined six non-conference opponents in November and December.

This past summer, Boston University formally accepted an invitation to move 20 of its 25 teams to the Patriot League on July 1, 2013 for the 2013-14 season. Formed as an all-sport conference in 1990-91, the league features American, Army, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh and Navy .

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior R.J. Page of the Boston University men’s track & field team was named America East Track Performer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. Page (Swedesboro, N.J.) ran a conference-best time of 10.65 seconds to finish fourth in the 100m dash championship on Saturday at the Penn Relays. He continued his impressive weekend as part of the 4x400m relay team that broke its own school record with a time of 3:08.85. The quartet finished second in the IC4A finals, just 16 hundredths of a second behind the first-place squad. The junior sprinter has had an outstanding outdoor season, as he owns the fastest time in the America East in both the 100m and 200m dashes. He is also part of the fastest 4x400m relay team in the conference. BU will compete at the America East Championships on May 5 and 6 in Bangor, Maine. Page is the defending champion in both the 100m and 200m dashes; he was named Most Outstanding Track Performer at last year’s event.
