STANFORD, Calif. - Junior Rich Peters set a new school record in the 1,500m run at the Payton Jordan Invitational on Sunday night at Stanford's Cobb Track.

Peters, competing in the elite section of the event, broke his own school record with a time of 3:40.05. His previous record was 3:42.69, set last year at the NCAA Championships. That time broke a school record that had stood for 26 years. He now has the fourth-fastest time in the NCAA.

Sophomore Stuart Ross also competed at Stanford on Sunday night, as he had a time of 1:53.04 to finish 15th in the 800m run.

BU will be back in action on May 3 at the Florida State Twilight.
