The Boston University women's and men's indoor track teams competed at the Harvard Invitational Saturday at the Gordon Track, with senior Marisa Ryan and sophomore Sarah Mosser taking the top two spots in the mile. Sophomore Whitney Ford placed first in the 60m, while on the men's side sophomore Kodjo Wilder placed fifth in the long jump.
Ryan (4:49.14) and Mosser's (4:54.89) next closest competition in the mile run finished with a 5:06.08 time. The Terriers had five runners place in the top 13 in the 60m: Ford (1, 7.68), senior Erin Catarius (5, 7.95), freshman Laura Martin (8, 8.00), senior Alyssa Fanucci (12, 8.07) and senior Camille Hazelwood (13, 8.09). Martin also placed 11th in the 400m with a 1:01.48 time. In the 200m, freshman Amanda Howard earned a 12th place finish with a 26.88 time, followed closely by sophomore Mim Maritz (13, 27.05). Junior Katie Weider rounded out the running events with a second place finish in the 800m, clocking in at 2:16.17.
In the field events, Maritz (J3.05m) and sophomore Fiona Romeri (J3.05) placed 13th and 14th respectively. Hazelwood finished fourth in the long jump with a 5.45m mark, while Fanucci earned the 11th spot with a 5.14m jump.
On the men's side, freshman
Rich Haigh placed sixth in the 200m with a 23.16 time, followed by junior
David Barth (30, 24.25). Wilder (23, 7.42), senior
Andrew Jones (32, 7.49) and Barth (36, 7.53) all placed in the 60m, with Jones also running a 54.22 time in the 400m for a 25th place finish.
Sophomore Logan Moore (7, 8.91) and senior Greg Daggett (11, 9.03) both placed in the 60m hurdles, while freshman Michael Zimmerman did not qualify with a 9.67 time in the 18th spot. BU's 4X400 relay team finished 14th in 3:35.29.
Wilder's 6.36m long jump earned him the fifth spot in the competition, while Moore placed ninth with a J4.10m pole vault and Daggett finished seventh in the triple jump with a 13.20m mark.
The Terriers will next see competition on Saturday, Dec. 15, when they host a mini-meet at the Track and Tennis Center, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
