GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior Rich Peters of the Boston University men's track and field team advanced to the NCAA Championships on Saturday night at the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Track and Field Preliminary Championships at North Carolina A&T.

Peters posted a time of 3:48.12 to finish fifth in his heat of the 1,500m run and automatically qualify for the NCAA semifinals for the second straight season. Last year, he finished sixth in the national final and was named a First Team All-American.

Freshman Reuben Horace finished his fantastic freshman campaign on Saturday with a toss of 52.06 meters in the hammer throw. He ended 2013 with the top mark in the America East in that event with a throw of 57.54 meters.

The Terriers will have three athletes competing at the NCAA Championships, which will be held June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore. Graudate students Katie Matthews (10,000m run) and Zachary Ray (400m hurdles) will join Peters at the University of Oregon.
