Men's Tennis Returns to Win Column with 5-2 Triumph over Holy Cross
BOSTON - Four straight-set singles victories and a doubles sweep propelled the Boston University men's tennis team to a 5-2 home victory over Holy Cross on Sunday at the Track and Tennis Center. With the win, the Terriers snapped a five-match losing streak and improved to 10-8 on the year. Junior Barrett Wolf and sophomore Jared Kobren teamed up for an 8-0 win at first doubles before each claiming victories at first and second singles, respectively. Wolf did not lose a game in an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory at the top spot against John Deaver. Kobren dropped just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Marco Lombardo. Freshman Tim Sichler was impressive at No. 4 singles, posting a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Jay DeSanto. Playing in his home finale, senior Abby Behar was victorious at sixth singles, edging Colin Misset, 7-5, 6-4. Freshman Saad Rizwan made his first dual appearance of his career, teaming up with junior Ross Lohr for an 8-6 victory in the No. 2 doubles match before dropping a hard-fought 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 decision at fifth singles. Sophomore Phil DeMeo and freshman Miron Nissim secured a doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory. The Terriers will wrap up the home portion of their schedule on Tuesday, April 25, when they take on Tufts beginning at 3:30 p.m. Boston University 5, Holy Cross 2 Doubles Singles
