Terriers' Men's Tennis Edges Tufts, 4-3

MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Boston University men's tennis team downed the host Jumbos with a 4-3 non-conference victory at Tufts on Thursday, April 15.

The Terriers and Jumbos split the six singles matches with each club winning three. Senior's Justin Schmidt (Lajolla, CA), Jacob Glaser (Beaverton, OR) and junior Ian Carrera (Goleta, CA) won their respective matches at number one, two and three singles in straight sets.

Rob Miller's squad won the match by sweeping the three doubles matches. Glaser and freshman Josh Holbrook (New Haven, CT) won number one doubles, 8-6, while Carrera and Schmidt scored at number two with a 9-7 win, and junior Chris Ransom (East Brunswick, NJ) teamed with senior Greg Toon (McGuire A.F.B., NJ) to complete the Terriers scoring.

Boston University improved to 4-8 with the victory and has won two consecutive matches for the first time since the '98 spring season when they defeated New Hampshire and Delaware on April 24 and 25.

The Terriers return to action this weekend when they host Boston College on Saturday, April 17 at 12 p.m. and close out the dual match season at the University of Rhode Island on Sunday, April 18 at 1 p.m.
