Men's Tennis Ends Losing Streak With Win Over Holy Cross



The Terrier men's tennis team ended an eight-match losing streak on Thursday, April 13, with a 6-1 win over host Holy Cross. The win improved the team's record to 3-11 during the spring season, and it marked B.U.'s first win since February 26th when they defeated Quinnipiac, 5-2. Four of the losses during the streak came in the team's spring trip to Florida.

En route to the win over the Crusaders, the Terriers swept all three doubles matches to take one point.

Playing pro sets, John Koetzle (Dix Hills, NJ) and Matt Wolf (Houston, TX) teamed up at number one doubles to win 8-3. Jon Mofsky (Miami, FL) and Bryant Christanto (Singapore, Indonesia) posted the same score at number two doubles. John Debbink (Oconomowoc, WI) and Noel Moosa (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) wrapped up the doubles sweep at number three, 8-2.

The Terriers enjoyed equal success in singles play, winning five of six matches.

Wolf posted a 6-4, 6-2 win at number one singles, while Koetzle reversed those two scores to win at number two, 6-2, 6-4. They were followed in order by Christanto at number three, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3; Moosa at number five, 6-4, 6-4; and Debbink at number six, 8-6 in a pro set.

The Terriers' only loss was at number four singles where Mofsky had to withdraw from the match.
