Rob Miller Named Men's Tennis Coach

BOSTON - Director of Athletics, Gary Strickler, has announced the hiring of Rob Miller as Boston University's men's tennis coach. Miller replaces Bob Dallis, who recently took a similar position at Colgate University.

Currently a sixth-grade teacher at the Baker School in nearby Brookline, Miller comes to B.U. after two highly-successful seasons as the head coach at Division III Emmanuel College. There, he directed the Saints to an outstanding 26-1 dual-match record and two Great Northeast Conference championships.

In addition, Miller has been the head coach of the Brookline High School varsity boy's tennis team since 1985, leading the Warriors to nine Bay State Conference championships. A three-time Bay State Conference Coach of the Year, Miller was named Division I Coach of the Year by the Boston Globe in 1988.

A Newton resident, Miller serves on the Dunlop-Slazenger Tennis Professional Promotional Staff and is the Tennis Director at Baker's After School Program.

Miller is a 1974 graduate of Beloit College in Wisconsin, where he earned a B.A. in history and a M.A.T. in elementary education in 1975. An outstanding player, Miller captained his Beloit team as a senior and continued to play competitively throughout the world, winning tournaments in seven different countries. He has also been ranked as high as ninth in the U.S.T.A./New England Men's 35 singles rankings, while earning a top-ranking in the doubles category.
