Nissim Leads Men's Tennis to 4-3 Win Over Fairfield

BOSTON - The Boston University men's tennis team held off a late charge by Fairfield on Sunday afternoon before posting a 4-3 victory. The Terriers jumped out to a 3-1 lead before watching the Stags put up a strong fight in the singles matches. Freshman Miron Nissim clinched the win for BU with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles. BU improved to 4-2 on the year with win.

The Terriers swept the doubles matches to earn the early point. In a very contested battle in the top singles match, junior Barrett Wolf topped Jonathan Fernado 7-6,6-2 and sophomore teammate Jared Kobren defeated Steve Kouri 7-5 6-4 in the No. 2 singles slot. Wolf and Kobren also teamed up to post a narrow 9-7 win at the top doubles spot.

BU will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 12, when it plays host to Holy Cross. Match time set is for 6 p.m. In the fall, the Terriers blanked the Crusaders on the road, 7-0.
