Sophomore Nik Astashinsky and freshman Connor Stuewe of Boston University's swimming team competed at the USA Swimming National Championships held Thursday, Dec. 1 through Saturday, Dec. 3, in Atlanta, Ga.

Astashinsky competed in four events, starting with the 200m IM preliminaries on Thursday, where he finished with a time of 2:11.81. The sophomore returned to the pool on Friday for preliminaries of the 400m IM, as he finished with a time of 4:48.06, and the 100m backstroke (1:00.63).

Ashtashinksy finished competition on Saturday, with the 200m backstroke preliminaries (2:11.30).

Stuewe also swam in the 200m backstroke preliminaries, finishing the race in 2:09.35. The Terriers have completed the 2011 portion of their season and will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 28, as BU hosts Brown and Columbia for a tri-meet. Competition is slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Competition Pool.
