BOSTON – The Boston University men’s and women’s swimming teams concluded the three-day Terrier Invitational Sunday afternoon in the Competition Pool.
The third and final day of the meet began with the women’s 1650 freestyle where freshman Stephanie Nasson was the top finisher for the Terriers with a time of 17:07.13 to finish fourth. Senior Megan Happ was not far behind, as she clocked in at 17:24.78 to claim sixth place.
In the men’s 1650 freestyle, sophomore Alec Pokornowski led the way for the Terriers with a second-place finish in 15:53.98, while teammates Tim Bouvier (16:11.42) and Knox Anderson (16:18.41) placed fourth and sixth, respectively.
Senior Katie Radin earned BU women’s first win of the night with a time of 2:02.87 to claim first in the 200 backstroke. The BU men followed by claiming the top two spots in the men’s 200 backstroke, with sophomore Connor Stuewe leading the way in 1:46.99 while freshman Mun Hon Lee took second in 1:49.63.
Freshman Mika Spencer was the top finisher for BU in the women’s 100 freestyle with a time of 52.55 to place fifth while Andy Vazquez posted the best finish for the men with a time of 45.67 to place ninth. In the next race, the 200 breaststroke, the BU women were again led by a freshman as Tess Harpur took seventh with a time of 2:27.16. In the men’s race, sophomore Mario Caballero place fourth in 2:05.43.
Next up was the 200 butterfly, in which sophomore Katie Kenney
led the Terriers with a third-place finish in 2:06.30 while Lee earned a victory in the men’s race with a time of 1:50.52. Junior Jeff Thomas
also placed third in the race (1:51.35).
The final race of the meet was the 400 freestyle relay and the quartet of Kendra Cheng, Courtney Grace, Mika Spencer and Kenney led the BU women with a third-place finish in 3:31.53. The BU men then conclude the meet with a victory in the 400 freestyle relay, as the team of Stuewe, Vazquez, Ryan Bach and Cole Puchi took first in 3:04.36.
