BOSTON - Previously named America East Rookie of the Year, Boston University men's soccer defender Kelvin Madzongwe received second-team Freshman All-America honors from CollegeSoccerNews.com. A native of Zimbabwe, Madzongwe was a key contributor in the back, helping the Terriers claim the program's 10th regular season title.

Also placed on the America East all-conference second team, he stepped into the sweeper position and started all 17 games in a critical role for the Terriers. Twice named America East Rookie of the Week, Madzongwe headed in his first career goal in BU's 2-1 win over then No. 20 Harvard on Sept. 26.

In his first season, BU allowed just 0.86 goals per game, including a league-best three scores in seven America East games.

Junior midfielder Michael Bustamante was named to the second team by Soccer America in 2008, while senior Aaron O'Neal received third team accolades in 2007 from CollegeSoccerNews.com. Both men were named America East Rookie of the Year.
