Aug. 25, 2008 Terrier Tailgate Tickets | Sign Up For BU All-Access | College Colors Day BOSTON - After a trip to the NCAA tournament last season, the Boston University men's soccer team returns to Nickerson Field on Sunday, Aug. 31, for the home opener against No. 13 Massachusetts, a game that will once again this season be preceded by Terrier Tailgate pre-game festivities. Last season's home opener drew a record crowd of 5,111, making it the eighth-largest crowd in the country for a men's college soccer game in 2007. This season, even more fans are expected as the Terriers battle the nationally-ranked Minutemen, the team that knocked BU out of the NCAA tournament last season, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear scarlet and white as BU welcomes the new school year by continuing the celebration of College Colors Day along with colleges and universities nationwide. The gates open at 4:30 p.m. with a pre-game barbeque. The "BU All-Access" radio show will be broadcast live from Nickerson Field on WWZN-AM 1510 "The Zone" from 4-5 p.m. and WTBU takes over pregame coverage at 5:30 p.m. before broadcasting the game. In addition to the radio broadcast on WTBU, fans that can't make it to Nickerson Field can watch online with BU All-Access. Prior to the match, BU will be presented with the Stuart P. Haskell, Jr. Commissioner's Cup for producing the strongest overall athletic program in the America East conference in 2007-08. Tickets for the Terrier Tailgate, which include admission to the game and the pre-game barbeque, are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 14. Tickets for the game only are $5 for adults and $2 for children, faculty and staff. BU students are admitted free to both events.
