BOSTON - Junior Jin Oh (Dededo, Guam) scored his second goal of the spring campaign for the Boston University men's soccer team's score in a 1-1 draw with the neighboring Boston College Eagles on Friday, April 13.

Oh scored from 35 yards out just 1:20 into the game to put BU on top early.

BU was solid as both teams played well in the first half. The Terriers had several more first half scoring chance. Sophomore Samuel Appiah (Obuasi, Ghana) tried to lob a bouncing ball over a charging BC keeper and just missed wide in the 30th minute. BU also hit the post later in the half and took its 1-0 lead into halftime.

BC knotted the score at 1-1 just 10 minutes into the second half and took control for the ensuing 20 minutes before BU regained command of the game in the final 15 minutes, with a breakaway and two other great chances in front of goal. With just two minutes left junior Neil Hlavaty (Lombard, Ill.) bent a shot in from the right side of the box that narrowly missed the top corner.

Red-shirt sophomore Joe Cullaro (New York, N.Y.), senior co-captain Derek Puerta (Pawtucket, R.I.), and junior Dan Schultz (Cinncinati, Ohio) had great defensive efforts for BU, while Halvaty and Oh spearheaded the attack.

BU continues its pre-season Saturday, April 21 against 2006 Atlantic-10 champion URI at Nickerson Field. Kickoff is 1:00 p.m.
